RT is planning to expand transit service between downtown Sacramento and the Sacramento International Airport. A comprehensive study—which included preparation of environmental documentation and other required reports—produced a selected alternative that is now being advanced toward implementation.
Goals of the Downtown/Natomas/Airport (DNA) project include:
- Improving corridor mobility
- Promoting patterns of smart growth
- Finding cost-effective solutions for transportation problems
in the corridor
- Minimizing community and environmental impacts
- Providing solutions that are consistent with other planning efforts
- Having strong community support
