e-tran is the new transit system being established by the City of Elk Grove.
When will e-tran service begin?
e-tran will begin service on January 2, 2005.
What is the relationship between e-tran and RT service?
The City of Elk Grove has made the decision to begin its own transit system. Currently, all transit service within the City is operated by Regional Transit. When e-tran begins service, the City will operate most of the routes now operated by RT. The City and RT are working together to coordinate transfers between the two systems, combine phone information services, and to coordinate bus stop signs and shelters.
What routes are currently operated by RT in Elk Grove and how will they change when the City begins providing service?
The routes currently operated by RT and the changes are:
Will the fares be different on e-tran from those on RT?
When the new e-tran service begins, fares will remain the
same as those on RT. Transfers between the systems will be accepted at no additional charge to ensure full transferability between the two
systems. Passes and other materials can be purchased at the same locations where RT passes are sold.
When will the e-tran routes and schedules be final?
The City is finishing work on the routes and schedules at the
present time. Once the routes and schedules are final, schedules will be
available.
