Welcome to RT's new link RT for Teens designed specifically for teens, by teens. Over the summer of 2007, 14 high school interns came together to create a teenage-friendly Web page. Their goal was to help teens find an easier way to use RT's bus and light rail system.

Plan Yo Trip

Confused about how to get there?  Try RT’s easy trip planner!  Enter your starting point and destination, and the trip planner will show you exactly what routes to take.

The program also allows users to view schedules, find the closest stop to their location, and find out when the next bus will arrive.

How 2 use RT’s trip planner:

Step 1:  Enter your starting point.  It may be a street address, intersection, or landmark.

Step 2:  Enter your destination- where you want to go.

Light Rail Safety

Stay behind the yellow line.

Do not approach the train until it comes to a complete stop.

Never cross the tracks in front of an oncoming train.

Look both ways before crossing the tracks.  Trains travel in both directions.

Listen for train horns and signal bells.

In the case of an emergency, alert the operator.  He or she will stop at the next station to
assess the problem.

Bus Safety

Try to avoid isolated bus stops.

Wait until the bus comes to a complete stop before approaching it.

Have your pass or money ready before the bus arrives.

Sit as close to the operator as possible.

Inform the operator of any problems.

Personal Safety

Stay alert to your surroundings.

When possible, travel with another person- there’s safety in numbers.

Avoid carrying unnecessary items.

Hold purses and bags tightly and close to your body.
