Sacramento Regional Transit District Application to Engage in Expressive Activity at Light Rail Stations
The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) allows expressive activity, including signature gatherers, surveyors, and the distribution of non-commercial pamphlets, flyers and etc. at light rail stations provided the following conditions are complied with:
1. This application must be completed entirely and provided to SacRT via one of the following: mailed to Sacramento Regional Transit District, Attn: Adam Green, P.O. Box 2110, Sacramento, CA 95812; hand delivered to 1102 Q Street, Sacramento, or scanned and emailed to agreen@sacrt.com. If planning to distribute material(s), a copy must be attached to the completed application when returned to SacRT.
2. Representatives located at a station(s) must have a copy of the approved agreement at each location where activity is taking place and have available to show upon request by SacRT personnel and/or contracted security guards.
3. Permission is granted provided:
A. There is no disruption to SacRT’s service or patrons as they walk to and from trains.
B. Expressive activity is only permitted where access is available to the general public, and prohibited in SacRT’s Paid Fare Zone, which is reserved for ticketed passengers. No material may be distributed on SacRT’s light rail station platforms within the designated boarding area or on board trains. SacRT personnel and/or contracted security guards will require representatives to relocate to another area if in the Paid Fare Zone.
C. SacRT reserves the right to revoke permission if SacRT determines that the activity is interfering with SacRT’s provision of service.
D. If distributing materials, the distributor agrees to clean up any related material(s) littering the light rail station.
E. Activity is limited to one area/kiosk/stand per station due to safety concerns at light rail stations that have limited space for ticketed customers.
F. Representatives agree to stay out of vendor leased areas when present.
