Gold Line Service Disruptions January 17 – 20, 2024

January 16, 2024 SacRT News

The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) is alerting riders of a schedule change for the platform construction schedule for the Sunrise Station. SacRT is modifying station platforms to meet the height requirements for new low-floor light rail vehicles.

Please see the updated service disruption schedule below:

Wednesday, January 17 and Thursday, January 18(Sunrise Inbound Closed, toward Sacramento)
The inbound platform (headed toward Sacramento Valley Station) at Sunrise Station will be closed for passengers boarding and deboarding. Train service will continue through Sunrise Station, but passengers will not be able to board or deboard on the inbound platform (headed toward Sacramento). The outbound platform at Sunrise Station will be open and operate normally.

Friday, January 19 and Saturday, January 20, 2024 (Sunrise Station Closed)
A bus bridge (shuttle bus between stations) will be in place between Cordova Town Center and Historic Folsom stations on the Gold Line from the start of service on Friday, January 19 through 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024.

SacRT urges riders to download the free Alert SacRT app and check the project webpage at sacrt.com/stationclosure for changes as the schedule is expected to shift due to rain in the forecast.

SacRT will continue full station platform construction at a different Gold Line station each month through July 2024. Once completed, SacRT will begin operating new low-floor light rail trains on the Gold Line.

As a reminder, light rail service on the Gold Line is not available between Iron Point and Historic Folsom Stations for the Folsom15-Minute Service Project, which is adding a passing track at Glenn/Robert G. Holderness Station to provide 15-minute light rail service to all Folsom area stations. Visit sacrt.com/Folsom15 for details.
