Gold Line Station Platform Modifications at Tiber Station
The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) is announcing station platform modifications at Tiber Station on the Gold Line, which will result in light rail service disruptions from Monday, February 5 to Sunday, February 11, 2024.
Shuttle bus service will be in place at Tiber Station during platform modification construction to connect customers with the light rail system. The tentative schedule for the station closures is below, note that the schedule may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances, including weather.
Monday, February 5 – Thursday, February 8, 2024
Light rail trains will continue to travel through Tiber Station; however, customers will not be able to board or deboard. A shuttle bus will operate between Tiber and Butterfield stations to connect customers to light rail. Gold Line trains will continue to operate on a normal schedule.
Friday, February 9 – Sunday, February 11, 2024
A Gold Line bus bridge will be in operation, with shuttle buses operating between Watt/Manlove and Mather Field/Mills stations.
SacRT is dedicated to minimizing disruptions and ensuring alternative transportation options for our passengers during the construction period.
SacRT’s Light Rail Modernization Project launched last year in January 2023. The project includes three major undertakings: purchasing a new fleet of modern low-floor trains; reconfiguring light rail station platforms to accommodate the height of the new low-floor trains; and adding a passing track to operate 15-minute service frequency to and from Folsom area station, including Hazel, Iron Point, Glenn/Robert G. Holderness and Historic Folsom stations. Once Gold Line station platform construction is complete, SacRT will begin operating service with new low-floor trains in summer 2024.
