SACRAMENTO, CA – In an effort to encourage transit ridership, the Sacramento Regional Transit District (RT) is launching an innovative and economical program today called RT Station Link.
Under the RT Station Link program, passengers who take Uber, Lyft or Yellow Cab to or from any of RT’s six key light rail stations will receive up to $5 off their ride, up to 10 rides, courtesy of RT.
“Our ride-hailing partners are helping us get people to and from light rail even late at night when many of our buses are no longer operating,” said Henry Li, RT General Manager/CEO. “We are proud to be partnering with Uber, Lyft and Yellow Cab to make riding RT even more convenient, safe and stress-free.”
This pilot partnership/promotion will run six months beginning in October. RT plans to contribute $50,000 worth of rides. Initially, the program will be limited to the Roseville Road, Franklin, Florin, Watt/Manlove, Power Inn and Sunrise light rail stations. This partnership is funded by RT and a grant from the Sacramento Area Council of Governments and Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District.
