February 8, 2024 SacRT News

The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) is currently seeking public comment for proposed service modifications scheduled for calendar year 2024. The draft modifications are available for public review through Friday, March 1, 2024. The proposed improvements aim to enhance the overall transit experience for riders.

Key improvements include:

  • Implementation of 15-minute service frequency on the Gold Line, between Sunrise and Historic Folsom light rail stations.
  • Addition of weekend and holiday service on Folsom bus route 10.
  • Introduction of morning and evening trips on various bus routes, including routes 1, 26, 33, 81, 84, and 93.
  • Potential adjustments to bus route 33 (Dos Rios).
  • Extra trips on bus route 137 (Elk Grove/UC Davis Medical Center Express).
  • Planning for an express bus from the future Altamont Commuter Express train station in Natomas to the Sacramento International Airport.

Minor reductions in service are proposed for specific bus stops on Folsom bus route 10. Two early morning trips on bus route 51 (Stockton/Broadway) are set to be discontinued. Additionally, Folsom bus route 30 is proposed for discontinuation due to low ridership. However, alternative options such as SmaRT Ride service will be available for customers.

A comprehensive summary of the proposed changes, as well as SacRT’s Title VI service equity analysis, can be viewed at sacrt.com/2024service.

Public comments must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024, to be considered for inclusion in the public record. The SacRT Board of Directors is scheduled to review and potentially approve the proposed 2024 service modifications during the meeting on Monday, March 11, 2024. If approved, most changes are anticipated to take effect in fall 2024.
