SacRT is thrilled to announce that all SEIU members now have access to FREE transit services through SacRT. This includes all bus routes and light rail. This initiative aims to make commuting easier, more affordable and environmentally friendly.

How to access your free transit pass:
For Departments with Transportation Coordinators:
- If your department has a Transportation Coordinator, please reach out to them directly to get signed up for your free transit pass. They will assist you in the process and ensure you can start enjoying the benefits of free public transit.
For others:
- If your department does not have a Transportation Coordinator, don’t worry! Simply purchase your transit pass through SacRT, either using the Connect Card or the convenient ZipPass mobile app. After purchasing, you can easily get a full reimbursement by your department, making your commute absolutely free!

The AlertSacRT app is an essential tool for Sacramento transit users, offering real-time rider alerts and a discreet, effective way to report safety and security concerns directly to Regional Transit Police Services (RTPS). Users can send anonymous messages, including text, photos, or six-second videos, to report suspicious activities.
This initiative complements the existing surveillance and communication systems across all light rail stations, closely monitored by a dedicated security team.
Despite constant patrols, the collective vigilance of passengers, armed with local knowledge and the AlertSacRT app, is crucial in identifying and reporting any unusual occurrences.
By downloading AlertSacRT, passengers not only stay updated on service disruptions but also play a pivotal role in maintaining the safety and security of the transit system.

Connect Transit Card is the region's electronic transit fare payment system. You can now purchase your transit fare online, never have to carry exact change again AND use the card on more than one agency!
