Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) strives to ensure that all payments reach their rightful recipients. However, we understand that sometimes checks go uncashed due to various reasons. Here is a list of companies/individuals who have uncashed checks dated April 30, 2022 or earlier: If your name, the name of a family member, or company name is on the list, please follow the instructions to claim payment before 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025.

Step One:

Check the Unclaimed Check List to see if you have unclaimed funds.

Step Two:

• Fill out the “Unclaimed Checks Claim Form“
• Obtain all required documentation:
• Copy of state-issued identification, such as a driver’s license AND
• If filing for a company: W-9 or letter of authorization on company/agency letterhead with names of officers authorized to sign and claim on behalf of the business/agency. If you cannot provide the requested documentation, attach a letter explaining why you are entitled to the unclaimed check and identify any special circumstances that may apply.
• If filing for a deceased payee, provide a copy of the death certificate and proof of ownership, such as a copy of the trust confirming beneficiary status.

Step Three:

Submit the completed “Unclaimed Checks Claim Form” and ALL required documentation via mail or email to:

During the review of the claim documents, additional information may be requested using the email provided on the “Unclaimed Checks Claim Form”.

Processing can take approximately 3-4 weeks. A SacRT Finance staff will send claim approval/ denial notifications to the email address in the “Unclaimed Checks Claim Form”. If approved, a stop payment will be placed on the original check and a new check will be reissued. Checks listed and not claimed by Monday, June 30, 2025 become SacRT property under California Code Section 50050-50057.
