Folsom Late Night – Introducing Extended Light Rail Hours

May 15, 2018 General, Rider Information

Beginning June 17, 2018, SacRT’s Gold Line light rail service to Folsom will be expanded into the late night hours!
We are proud to announce that starting in June, light rail trains will serve Folsom until 11:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9:30 p.m. on Sunday. Morning service times will remain the same.

Since the Folsom light rail extension opened in October 2005, service to Folsom stations – Hazel, Iron Point, Glenn and Historic Folsom – ended around 7 p.m. With the many exciting changes that have taken shape in the Sacramento region over the last couple of years, most notably the opening of the new arena, and with more and more people turning to SacRT as an alternative to driving, there has been a renewed interest in expanding service hours. With this in mind, SacRT identified funding that can be used to extend Folsom service hours.

This new service will significantly improve mobility for the region, allowing convenient transportation for shopping, dining, and entertainment! It will also allow a new commute option for individuals who work a non-traditional schedule.

To celebrate this historic occasion, SacRT in partnership with the Folsom Chamber of Commerce and City of Folsom is planning a launch event on Thursday, June 14 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Historic Folsom Station and historic Folsom district. See the Save the Date below.
