Celebrate the 4th of July with Free Rides on SacRT to Local Events

SacRT is offering free rides with a valid admission ticket or free ride flyer to a number of local Fourth of July celebrations. 

Ride Free to the Folsom Pro Rodeo  

SacRT is offering FREE rides on light rail and Folsom bus service with valid admission ticket to the Folsom Pro Rodeo from the Historic Folsom and Glenn/Robert G. Holderness light rail stations on Thursday, July 3, Friday, July 4 and Saturday, July 5, 2025. 

To ride free, simply show your valid Folsom Pro Rodeo admission ticket to the fare inspector while riding light rail and to the bus operator when boarding the shuttle.  

Supplemental Folsom shuttle service will operate every 30 minutes between light rail stations and Rodeo Park all three days. The first shuttle will depart at 4 p.m. from the Historic Folsom Station arriving at Rodeo Park at 4:15 p.m. The last shuttle will depart Rodeo Park at 10:15 p.m. and arrive at the Historic Folsom Station at 10:20 p.m.  

Please check light rail schedules prior to riding. The last light rail train departs the Historic Folsom Station at 11:30 p.m.

Ride Free to Elk Grove’s Salute to Red, White and Blue 

On Friday, July 4, 2025, SacRT will offer free shuttle rides for Elk Grove’s Salutes the Red, White & Blue Festival for those traveling to and from Elk Grove Park. Starting at 4:30 p.m., the Red and Blue shuttle lines will begin service in the city of Elk Grove and provide shuttle service to the park every 15 minutes. The last Red Shuttle from Elk Grove Boulevard at Clarke Farms departs at 7:30 p.m. and the last Blue Shuttle from Elk Grove Boulevard at Emerald Vista departs at 7:30 p.m.  

Service leaving the park will begin at 10 p.m. (or at the end of the fireworks show). The shuttle pick-up and drop-off location inside the park will be in front of the Pavilion.   

For ADA certified passengers, SacRT e-van service will be provided within 3/4 mile of the Red Shuttle and Blue Shuttle routes, during the shuttle hours.

Celebrate with FREE Rides to Rancho Cordova’s Fourth of July Celebration  

SacRT is offering a FREE ride flyer for people attending the Rancho Cordova’s Fourth of July Celebration on Thursday, July 3 and Friday, July 4, 2025 at Hagan Park. Rancho Cordova is celebrating Independence Day with a two-day festival, including carnival rides, concerts, a parade and fireworks.  

Route 21 serves the bus stop closest to Hagan Park with the last bus departing at 8:46 p.m. traveling toward the Mather Field/Mills Station.

Know Before You Go! 

SacRT is operating a Sunday/holiday schedule on the Fourth of July, which means some services do not operate. Elk Grove transit services will only operate local Elk Grove fixed route service. Elk Grove Commuter and SacRT e-van service will not operate.  

The Customer Service and Sales Center located at 1225 R Street will be closed. The Customer Service phone lines will be open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, July 4, 2025.
