ZipPass App - Retiring June 30th
Important ZipPass Updates
SacRT has launched a new mobile fare app called Transit Connect, which will replace ZipPass.
The ZipPass mobile fare app has officially entered its retirement phase. Please note these important dates:
- Extended grace period: Riders may continue using ZipPass to use any remaining active passes only through Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
- After June 30, the ZipPass app will no longer be available. Riders are strongly encouraged to transition to Transit Connect as soon as possible.
Even more enhancements are coming this spring as part of Phase 2, including:
- Contactless tap‑to‑pay validation
- Fare capping—never pay more than the daily max
- Loading cash at vending machines and participating retailers
- Connect Card users will transition to Transit Connect, and a smart card option will be available.
Transit Connect App
Transit Connect is SacRT’s new mobile fare app for a seamless travel experience. Users can currently purchase basic fare, discount fare and SacRT GO paratransit services fare.
