ENSacRT and the City of Rancho Cordova are excited to begin the design phase for the future Horn Road Light Rail Station, thanks to a recent $6 million grant award from the Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program (TIRCP).
Project Highlights:
- Location: Folsom Boulevard near Horn Road
- Status: Environmental review completed; design fully funded
- Next Steps: SacRT is actively seeking additional funding to close the construction gap
- Community Input: SacRT is engaging with City Council and the public to ensure the station design meets community expectations
- If funding is secured through upcoming grants, construction is anticipated to begin in 2027
- The station is expected to open for service in 2029
