Bike Policy on Low-Floor Trains

Rider Reminder: Four Bikes Max Per Low-Floor Train Car

To ensure safety and comfort for all riders, SacRT will begin enforcing a limit of four bicycles per low-floor light rail train car (S700 models), two on each side.

These modern low-floor trains are designed with designated bike areas, but space is limited. To prevent overcrowding and ensure accessibility for all passengers — especially those using mobility devices — we ask all cyclists to follow the 4-bike maximum per car rule.

What You Need to Know:

  • Only 4 bikes are allowed per low-floor train car (2 each side).
  • If the bike area is full, please wait for the next train or use a different car.
  • Transit Ambassadors and operators will be monitoring compliance.
  • Look for decals near the bike area for guidance.

Why This Matters:

This policy helps maintain a safe, accessible, and comfortable ride for everyone — including seniors, riders with disabilities, and families with strollers.
