Gold Line Track Maintanence Complete
SacRT has successfully completed critical track maintenance and upgrades along the Gold Line as part of our State of Good Repair Program. This work improves safety, reliability, and ride comfort for all riders.
Project Highlights:
- Replaced 3,502 rail ties
- Installed 690 tons of ballast
- Upgraded track from Class 3 to Class 5 standards in just 11 days
- Work performed between 34th Street and Starfire Drive
This section of track was part of the original Gold Line starter line built in 1987. Over time, tie degradation required speed restrictions, reducing operating speeds from 55 mph to 30 mph. With these upgrades, trains can now operate at full speed, providing a smoother and safer ride.
Thank you for your patience during this important project. Your support helps us keep Sacramento moving safely and efficiently.
