Celebrating 20 Years of Gold Line Service at Sacramento Valley Station
Two decades of connecting Sacramento to destinations throughout the region and beyond!
In December 2006, SacRT extended Gold Line light rail service to Sacramento Valley Station, creating an important connection between regional light rail, Amtrak, Capitol Corridor and other transportation services.
The 0.7-mile extension completed the final segment of the Gold Line’s Amtrak/Folsom Corridor project and added two stations, bringing light rail service directly to Sacramento’s historic downtown train station.
For 20 years, Sacramento Valley Station has served as an important connection point for commuters, travelers, downtown employees, residents and visitors. Whether heading to work, catching a train, exploring downtown or connecting to another destination, thousands of riders have made this station part of their journey.
