8th & O Light Rail Station and Bus Stops Three Year Closure

July 15, 2022 General, SacRT in Community

As of Friday, July 15, 2022, the 8th & O light rail station west platform (trains traveling toward the 8th & Capitol Station) is closed for approximately three years due to major renovation construction of the California Department of Water Resources Building, located at 1416 9th Street.

Light rail passengers should use the Archives Plaza Station west platform instead. The 8th & O Station east platform (trains traveling toward Archives Plaza Station) are open.

Bus stops located at 8th & O and 9th & N streets are also closed during construction. Northbound bus passengers should use the stop at 8th & N streets or 8th and P streets. Southbound bus passengers should use the stop at 9th & Capitol streets, which is between N & Capitol. The bus stop at 9th & O streets will remain open during construction.

The station and adjacent bus stops will reopen when construction is complete, which is estimated to be October 2025. Thank you for your patience during the service disruption.
