Try Transit for Free October 1 through October 7, 2022

In celebration of California Clean Air Day, the Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) is offering a week of systemwide free rides during the first week of October 2022. The free rides include fixed-route bus (including Airport Express, Causeway Connection, Elk Grove, and Folsom), light rail, on-demand SmaRT Ride shuttles, SacRT GO paratransit service, and e-van service. Anyone can ride SacRT for free between Saturday, October 1 and Friday, October 7, 2022.

Help clear the air by trying an alternative form of transportation. Leave the car at home and try SacRT for free.

“Transportation is the number one source of air pollution in California,” said SacRT General Manager/CEO Henry Li. “Leaving your car at home helps ensure that every breath you take is a breath of clean air.”

SacRT is one of several northern California transit agencies offering free rides in celebration of California Clean Air Day. The following transit agencies are also offering free rides:  

El Dorado Transit is offering free rides on commuter bus, local bus, dial-a-ride and paratransit services on Wednesday, October 5, 2022. Learn more at eldoradotransit.com. 

San Joaquin Regional Transit District is offering free rides on its Local, Express, and Hopper routes on Wednesday, October 5, 2022. Learn more at sanjoaquinrtd.com.  

Vacaville City Coach has not resumed fare collection since the COVID-19 pandemic, so they continue offering free rides every day and on California Clean Air Day. Learn more at citycoach.com.    

Yolobus is offering free rides on all their bus routes on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, which also includes the Causeway Connection. Learn more at yolobus.com/news.
