SacRT Offers Cash Incentives for New Bus Drivers
As SacRT moves forward with more bus service, the district is now offering new recruitment and retention incentives to hire and keep more highly skilled bus operators.
For SacRT employees (with the exception of recruitment staff), if you make a referral for a new bus operator, you can receive a $250 bonus after the new operator has been employed for 12 months with SacRT. The applicant must put the referring SacRT employee’s first and last name on the application for employment to be eligible to receive the referral bonus.
There is no limit to the number of applicants that can be referred by a current SacRT employee.
SacRT is also offering an Operator Hiring Incentive Program to newly hired operators once they complete two major milestones in the district. The first, an operator will receive $500 upon completion of a six month probationary period and a second amount of $500 after one year on the job.
If an operator voluntarily terminates employment with SacRT within 24 months of the date of hire, the operator will be required to repay all hiring incentive payments received.
Recruitment incentives and referral bonuses do not apply for re-hire applicants.
