Try Transit on Wednesday, October 2 for Free

SACRAMENTO, CA – The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) is offering free rides on Wednesday, October 2 in recognition of California Clean Air Day. Rides on bus, light rail and SmaRT Ride microtransit are free all day!
The goal of California Clean Air Day is to spread the message about air pollution and how it directly impacts all Californians’ health.

“SacRT is dedicated to reducing emissions and air pollution by providing more sustainable ways to travel around the region,” SacRT General Manager/CEO Henry Li said. “We are working toward the pursuit of an all electric zero emission bus fleet and modernized light rail system to provide cleaner and more convenient transportation solutions for the region.”

Transportation is the single biggest source of air pollution in California. On Clean Air Day, help clear the air by trying an alternative form of transportation. Leave the car at home and try transit for free. Use the online trip planner to plan a trip on SacRT at sacrt.com.

SacRT is also offering riders a chance to win a free monthly transit pass on Clean Air Day. Simply ride SacRT, take a selfie, post it on social media and make sure to tag SacRT and use the #SacCleanAirDay.
