SacRT partnered with the City of Elk Grove to explore new ways to enhance mobility and connectivity for Elk Grove residents and visitors, including high-frequency transit service.

After reviewing the Blue Line/Bus Rapid Transit Implementation Plan​, Elk Grove accepted the option to extend the Blue Line, moving one step closer to having light rail in Elk Grove. This plan aims to create a more efficient and accessible travel option along the corridor between Bruceville Road and Big Horn Boulevard, spanning from the current Blue Line station at Cosumnes River College to Kammerer Road near State Route 99.
