As Senior VP of Planning, Grants, and Procurement, Laura Ham provides executive direction and strategic management over the planning; grants; capital programming; transit asset management; disadvantaged business enterprise; and procurement functions at SacRT. With over 24 years at SacRT, she is an experienced public transit professional who is committed to continuous service improvement and project delivery for the organization.
Notable projects developed under Laura’s leadership include the Systemwide Improvement Initiative, readying the agency for service to the new Golden 1 Center; the award winning SacRT Forward Bus Network Redesign project, a total reimagining of the SacRT’s bus network to meet today’s service needs; and the SacRT SmaRT Ride program, one of the first, largest and most successful microtransit programs of its kind in the nation. In her current role, Laura and her team plan, develop, and obtain grants for various service and capital improvements to support the implementation of SacRT’s strategic initiatives – She is also responsible for oversight of compliance in key programmatic and regulatory areas, including SacRT’s procurement functions and SacRT’s other disadvantaged and small business programs.
Laura graduated from Sac State with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, and a minor in Liberal Arts and Social Science. Laura also holds a Transit and Paratransit Management certificate from Pepperdine University.
