ENIronman California Triathlon - SacRT Service Updates for Sunday, October 18, 2026
The Ironman California Triathlon returns to Sacramento on Sunday, October 18, 2026, bringing thousands of athletes and spectators to the region for a full day of swimming, biking, and running events. While the event is an exciting celebration of endurance and athleticism, it also brings road closures and traffic impacts, particularly in and around downtown Sacramento with service disruptions expected to start at noon.
Light Rail Service Disruptions
Gold Line
A bus bridge will be in place on the Gold Line between Sacramento Valley Station and 13th Street stations.
Blue Line
A bus bridge will be in place on the Blue Line between 13th Street and Cathedral Square (10th & K and 11th & K)
Bus Service Disruptions - Route 11 and 51 Detour in Downtown
Bus Route 11 and Bus Route 51 will be detoured in the downtown area due to road closures associated with the triathlon course. Riders should plan for possible delays and temporary stop closures along the route.
All other bus routes will operate normally, but riders traveling through downtown should still expect increased traffic and potential delays due to the event.

Rider Alert: Blue Line Service Disruption October 8 – 17, 2026
SacRT has a planned service disruption on the Blue Line due to station platform construction between October 8 – 17, 2026. A bus bridge (shuttle bus between stations) will be in place between City College and Florin stations. Visit sacrt.com/BlueLine for details.
How to Use the Bus Bridge

Blue Line North
Light Rail service is available between Watt/I-80 and 11th & K (Cathedral Square) stations.
- A bus bridge will be in place starting at 11th & K. Board the shuttle bus at 10th & K to connect to 13th Street Station.
- Board the train at 13th Street Station to continue south toward Cosumnes River College Station.
- Shuttle buses will stop at the station in between Cathedral Square and 13th Street Station.
Blue Line South
Light Rail service is available between Cosumnes River College and 13th Street stations.
- A bus bridge will be in place starting at 13th Street Station. Board the shuttle bus at 13th Street Station to connect to 11th & K Station.
- Board the train at 11th & K Station to continue north toward Watt/I-80 Station.
- Shuttle buses will stop at the station in between 13th Street Station and Cathedral Square.
Gold Line
Light Rail service is available between Historic Folsom Station and 13th Street Station.
- A bus bridge will be in place starting at 13th Street Station. Board the shuttle bus at 13th Street Station to connect to Sacramento Valley Station.
- Shuttle buses will stop at all the stations in between 13th Street Station and Sacramento Valley Station, except for 8th & H station.
Shuttle Bus Times
Shuttle bus operate every 20 – 30 minutes.
*Note: The service disruption is expected to begin at noon and last through the end of service on Sunday.
