SacRT has kicked off a project to study the Meadowview light rail station and the surrounding park-and-ride lot to develop a master plan that will guide future development, including but not limited to housing and mixed-uses.
This project is funded by SACOG’s Green Means Go program, which is a regional effort to accelerate infill development, lower greenhouse gas emissions and revitalize existing communities in Sacramento and surrounding areas.
The Meadowview Station Transit-Oriented Communities Study will be developed in coordination with SacRT partners and the South Sacramento community to plan smart growth, affordable housing, and better mobility.
The Study will look at the Meadowview light rail station area and assess the current infrastructure conditions, while also conceptualizing potential development opportunities to accelerate housing in the community. Furthermore, the study will analyze financial feasibility for design concepts and include potential funding strategies to support them.
