SacRT is reimagining access to Roseville Road Station to support safer and more comfortable travel for people walking, biking, riding transit, and moving through the surrounding area. This planning effort will explore opportunities to reopen and improve the currently closed Grand Avenue bridge access and develop a community-shaped vision for the bridge and station area.
The project will evaluate ways to improve mobility, strengthen connections to the station, and create a safer, more welcoming experience for nearby residents, transit riders, businesses, and visitors. Community input will play a central role in shaping future concepts for the bridge and the area surrounding Roseville Road Light Rail Station.
why this project is needed
Roseville Road Station serves neighborhoods in North Sacramento and East Del Paso Heights and provides important connections to jobs, schools, services, and destinations across Sacramento County. Following a major fire beneath the Grand Avenue bridge in 2021, the bridge access was closed to the public.

Access Map
Since the closure, direct access between neighborhoods north of the railroad tracks and Roseville Road Station has been reduced. Today, access to the station can be indirect, uncomfortable, or challenging for people walking and biking. This project will identify opportunities to improve safety, access, and connectivity while developing a long-term vision for the bridge and station area.
