SACRAMENTO, CA – The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) will implement a temporary service disruption on the Blue Line on Saturday, May 31, 2025, to accommodate final station platform modification work at Globe Station. This project is preparing stations for the new low-floor light rail vehicles, which will improve accessibility and enhance the overall rider experience.
During the disruption, a bus bridge (shuttle bus between stations) will be in place between Alkali Flat/La Valentina and Marconi/Arcade stations from start to end of service on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
SacRT is currently developing plans for the next stages of the Light Rail Modernization Project. Upcoming improvements will include modifications to the remaining Blue Line stations and upgrades along the Gold Line to support three-car train operations. Construction on these future phases is anticipated to begin in early 2026.
Riders are encouraged to visit sacrt.com/stationclosure or download the free Alert SacRT app to receive real-time service updates and construction alerts. The construction schedule is subject to change due to weather or unforeseen conditions.
