SacRT’s new S700 low-floor light rail trains were on the Blue Line during evening hours on Monday, March 9 and Tuesday, March 10, 2026, for system testing. These trains were not available for boarding, as crews were completing measurement work in preparation for future service.
During the testing period, the S700 trains operated between regular revenue service trains along the Blue Line.
Why were they on the tracks?
SacRT crews ran the S700 trains between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. on March 9–10 to take precise platform stop marker measurements. This work supports ongoing systemwide upgrades ahead of the new fleet entering service in 2027.
Please Note:
SacRT continues to make platform modifications on the Blue Line to accommodate the new low-floor fleet. Construction work is ongoing throughout 2026. Learn more at sacrt.com/StationClosure.
