SacRT recently wrapped up a successful series of Transit Idea Exchange Workshops designed to engage community members in meaningful conversations about how transit impacts daily life — and how it can better serve the Sacramento region.
Over the past several months, we hosted workshops in neighborhoods across the region, culminating in two virtual events that brought together voices from all corners of our service area. These interactive sessions gave participants the opportunity to share ideas, ask questions, and help shape a transit system that works for everyone.
What We Heard
Throughout the workshops, community members shared thoughtful feedback on a wide range of topics, including:
- Improving connections between bus and light rail
- Making stations and stops more welcoming and accessible
- Expanding service hours and frequency
- Implementing Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) on key corridors
- Enhancing safety, lighting, and cleanliness
- Launching public education efforts to help new riders navigate the system
We’re grateful to everyone who took the time to participate and share their ideas.
Next Steps
We’re currently reviewing all the feedback collected during the Transit Idea Exchange series. This input will help inform future planning efforts.
Stay tuned — we’ll be sharing more about how your ideas are shaping the future of transit in the Sacramento region. In the meantime, you can continue to follow our progress and learn more about the Comprehensive Operational Analysis (COA) at sacrt.com/COA.
