SACRAMENTO, CA – The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) is offering free rides on light rail on Tuesday, December 31 for the New Year’s Eve Sky Spectacular in Old Sacramento. Simply present the Free Ride Flyer, which is available at sacrt.com, and ride light rail for free to and from the event.

“We are thrilled to partner with Visit Sacramento to offer free rides on New Year’s Eve for people to come out and celebrate,” said SacRT General Manager/CEO Henry Li. “Riding light rail is a safe, convenient and family-friendly way to travel to the festivities without having to drive and pay for parking.”

To take light rail to downtown/Old Sacramento, SacRT recommends parking at one of our 22 park-and-ride stations. Light rail trains operate every 15 to 30 minutes depending on the time of day. The last Gold Line train traveling toward Sunrise/Folsom will depart the 7th & Capitol Station at 10:54 p.m. The last Blue Line train traveling toward Cosumnes River College will depart the 7th & Capitol Station at 11:16 p.m., and the last train traveling toward Watt/I-80 will depart the 9th & K Station at 12:32 a.m.

A reminder for riders, SacRT will operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, New Year’s Day. Check SacRT’s “Services” web page for Sunday/holiday schedules for bus, light rail, and other transportation services.
