Celebrating 10 Years of Blue Line Service to CRC!

Sunday, August 24, 2025, marks a major milestone for the Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) — the 10-year anniversary of the Blue Line extension to Cosumnes River College (CRC).

A decade ago, this 4.3-mile extension opened new opportunities for thousands of residents in south Sacramento. The project added four new stations — Morrison Creek, Franklin, Center Parkway, and Cosumnes River College — bringing light rail service closer to neighborhoods, schools, and businesses than ever before.

Since its opening in 2015, the extension has provided millions of rides, giving students, workers, and families faster, more affordable, and environmentally friendly connections to higher education, job centers, shopping, entertainment, and regional destinations across Sacramento.

The Blue Line extension to CRC was made possible through strong partnerships, community vision, and the support of local, state, and federal funding. It remains a shining example of what can be achieved when we work together to improve mobility and quality of life.

Thank you to the community, our riders, and our partners who helped make this possible — and who have kept the Blue Line thriving for 10 years.
