SacRT is launching SacRT 2050, a bold initiative to reimagine transit for the next 25 years. Formerly known as the Comprehensive Operational Analysis (COA), this effort will take a fresh look at our service offerings and create a roadmap for a safe, efficient, and sustainable transit system that meets the evolving needs of the Sacramento region.
SacRT 2050 will guide updates to both our Short Range Transit Plan (SRTP) and Long Range Transit Plan (LRTP)—ensuring we deliver reliable service today while planning for tomorrow’s growth and innovation.
We Want Your Input!
Help us shape the future of transit by completing a short online survey. Your feedback will help us improve routes, schedules, and services to better serve our region.

When you complete the survey, you’ll receive a free daily pass through SacRT’s new Transit Connect app—our all-in-one mobile ticketing and trip planning tool.
For those with visual impairments having trouble with accessing or filling out the survey, please call 916-956-4934 for assistance.
The deadline to take the survey is Sunday, March 15, 2026.

More about SRTP and LRTP
The SRTP includes planned service changes, fleet planning, and budget forecasts for the five-year period from 2026 to 2030. In accordance with Senate Bill 125, one of the key goals of the SRTP is to achieve fiscal sustainability without major service reductions or fare increases. The SRTP will also include an analysis of many recent major changes and initiatives at SacRT over the past several years, including changes to travel patterns from the COVID-19 pandemic, annexation of Elk Grove transit service, and major changes to SacRT’s microtransit service (i.e., SacRT Flex).
Last updated in 2011, the LRTP will develop a long-term vision for capital improvements along the SacRT system and create a prioritized list of projects over the next 30 years. SacRT intends this updated LRTP to culminate in technically sound, fiscally realistic, and publicly-supported expenditure plans for both a “business as usual” financial scenario and a potential new local funding measure. In consultation with our member agencies, we intend to balance state-of-good-repair needs with system expansion goals, and ensure consistency with the Sacramento Area Council of Government’s Blueprint 2025 plan.
Conceptual Scenario Maps
NOTE: These maps do not represent the final or draft Long-Range plan and are simply conceptual maps to show what SacRT could commit to with a new potential funding measure. SacRT will go to the public top receive input on their draft and final LRTP updates in the future.
