SacRT Announces 15-Day Blue Line Service Disruption for Dos Rios Station Construction

SACRAMENTO, CA – The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) will temporarily suspend light rail service on a portion of the Blue Line for 15 consecutive days, beginning Saturday, November 1 through Saturday, November 15, 2025, to accommodate major construction work on the new Dos Rios light rail station.

During this period, a bus bridge will replace train service between Marconi/Arcade Station and Cathedral Square (10th & K and 11th & K stations). Shuttle buses will operate in both directions, serving all impacted stations to ensure continued rider access.

Note: for Light Rail service headed toward Watt/I-80 Station, the train will drop off riders at 9th & K Station to cross over and pick up the shuttle bus at 10th & K Station.

Service Disruption Details:

  • Start Date: Saturday, November 1, 2025 (start of service)
  • End Date: Saturday, November 15, 2025 (end of service)
  • Regular Service Resumes: Sunday, November 16, 2025*
*Subject to final testing and safety approvals

Why the Service Disruption is Needed:

The construction project involves relocating two critical infrastructure components, including the overhead catenary system, which powers the trains and track infrastructure, including new inbound and outbound track configurations.

Because SacRT’s Light Rail Operations and Maintenance Facility is located near Marconi/Arcade Station, trains will not be able to pass through the construction zone. Temporary storage tracks will be used to maintain train operations and inspections during the closure.

SacRT encourages riders to plan ahead and allow extra travel time during the construction period. For more information visit sacrt.com/BlueLineService.
