SacRT Announces January 2026 Service Adjustments to Improve On-Time Performance

SACRAMENTO, CA – The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) will implement adjustments on nine bus routes effective Monday, January 5, 2026, to enhance on-time performance and maintain reliable connections across the system.

The changes will affect the following bus routes: 21, 26, 84, 86, 105, 134, 142, 205, and 206. Riders are encouraged to review the updated schedules online at sacrt.com/servicechanges or call 916-321-BUSS (2877) for assistance.

Key Adjustments Include:

  • Route 21 (Sunrise): Up to eight minutes added to certain morning and evening trips to maintain transfers with the Gold Line and connecting routes.
  • Route 26 (Fulton): Up to eight minutes added to select trips; arrival and departure times will shift.
  • Route 84 (Watt): Up to six minutes added to certain trips; times adjusted accordingly.
  • Route 86 (Grand): Minor adjustments to evening trips; two late-night departures will leave two minutes earlier.
  • Route 105 (Elsie): Morning and afternoon trips extended by up to nine minutes while maintaining school arrival/departure times.
  • Route 134 (McKinley): Four minutes added to evening segment near CSUS.
  • Route 142 (Airport Express): Afternoon peak trips will depart three minutes earlier; midday and evening trips extended by three minutes.
  • Routes 205 & 206 (Fruitridge / 12th Ave): Three minutes added to select trips due to traffic congestion on Land Park Drive.
