SACRAMENTO, CA – The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) is reminding riders currently using the ZipPass mobile app to begin transitioning to Transit Connect, SacRT’s new mobile fare payment app, as ZipPass will retire later this year. Transit Connect is designed to provide a smarter, simpler way to pay fares and will eventually integrate with regional transit partners for a seamless experience.

Key Dates for ZipPass Users:

• Last Day to purchase Passes/Tickets in ZipPass: Friday, January 30, 2026
• Last Day to Use ZipPass Passes/Tickets: Thursday, April 30, 2026
• Los Rios Students: Continue using ZipPass through Sunday, May 31, 2026

Note: Yolobus and Unitrans riders can continue using ZipPass and will transition to Transit Connect at a later date.

Transit Connect will expand to include SacRT’s transit partners throughout the region and will transition thousands of riders from Connect Card to Transit Connect. Full integration is expected by fall 2026, creating a seamless fare payment experience across multiple transit providers in a single app.

What Riders Need to Know:

• Download Transit Connect now from the App Store or Google Play.
• Purchase and store tickets or passes directly on your smartphone.
• Show your activated ticket or pass to bus operators or fare inspectors, just like ZipPass.
