Service Disruptions Due to the California International Marathon
Sunday, December 7, 2025
The California International Marathon is on Sunday, December 7, 2025. Runners will travel from Folsom to Downtown Sacramento. Several bus routes and light rail lines will be temporarily affected from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please see temporary service disruptions below.
Light Rail Service Disruptions
Gold Line
A bus bridge (shuttle bus between stations) will be in place on the Gold Line between Sacramento Valley Station and 13th Street stations
Blue Line
A bus bridge (shuttle bus between stations) will be in place on the Blue Line between 13th Street and Cathedral Square (10th & K and 11th & K).
Closed Stations
The following light rail stations will be closed for service on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

- 9th & K
- 8th & O
- 8th & Capitol
- 7th & Capitol
- 8th & K
- 7th & I
- Sacramento Valley Station
Bus Route Detours
Many bus routes will experience detours. Please allow extra travel time if you plan on riding the bus on Sunday, December 7, 2025.Call 916-321-BUSS (2877) for assistance
- Route 11 (Outbound to Club Center): There is no service on 8th between K and N streets.
- Route 21: There is no service on Sunrise Blvd between Winding Way and Trinity River. Passengers traveling between Sunrise/Winding and Sunrise/Trinity River must use Route 1 and Light Rail to catch Route 21 at either Sunrise Mall or Mather Field/Mills.
- Route 23: There is no service on Fair Oaks between San Juan/Winding, and on El Camino between Fair Oaks/Garfield. During the detour passengers can catch the bus on Garfield and on Winding Way.
- Route 25: There is no service on Fair Oaks Blvd.
- Route 26: Route 26 will operate between Fulton/Northrop and University/65th Transit Center using the freeway. Passengers traveling from University/65th Transit Center to Sac State University/College Town must use Route 30 to CSUS, which will stop in the route 26 bus stop at University/65th Transit Center.
- Route 30: There is no service at J/8th Street. There is no service on J between 29th and CSUS, on L east of 7th, and on Alhambra. Route 30 will operate between University/65th Transit Center and CSUS. It will stop at the route 26 bus stop.
- Route 38: No service at J & 8th St. No service on J St between 29th and CSUS. No service on L St east of 7th. No service on Alhambra.
- Route 51: No service on 8th St between K and P streets.
- Route 62: No service on L Street.
- Routes 67/68: No service on 29th Street Between G and P streets. No service on 30th Street between Q and G streets.
- Route 82: Route 82 will operate non-stop between Northrop/Howe and University/65th Street Transit Center using the freeway.
- Route 84: Southbound passengers traveling south of Northrop to La Riviera or Watt/Manlove must transfer to routes 26/82/87 on Hurley westbound by the 7-Eleven, ride Routes 26/82/87 to University/65th Street Transit Center, transfer to the Gold Line outbound, get off at Watt/Manlove, and transfer to route 84 if going to La Riviera. Northbound passengers must catch the Gold Line inbound at Watt/Manlove, get off at University/65th Street Transit Center, catch routes 26/82/87 at University/65th Street Transit Center, get off at Howe/Hurley, and catch route 84 on Hurley eastbound by the Chevron station.
- Routes 86/88: Passengers who normally catch routes 86 or 88 on J Street between 9th -14th, 15th/K, or L Street between 14th - 9th must catch them at L/4th.
- Route 87: Route 87 will operate non-stop between Howe/Hurley and University/65th Street Transit Center using the freeway. Route 30 will operate between University/65th Street Transit Center and CSUS. It will stop at the route 26 bus stop.
- Route 142: Route 142 will not operate on L Street. Passengers can board on J St, but J/14th will be the layover point.
