SACRAMENTO, CA — Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) is inviting riders, residents, and community partners to participate in a series of Safe Routes to Transit workshops designed to identify safety challenges, access barriers, and opportunities to improve first/last mile connections to bus stops, light rail stations, and transit centers across our region.
The workshops will be held in Rancho Cordova, South Land Park, Citrus Heights, Elk Grove, and Folsom, plus a virtual session. Community feedback will help inform future projects and programs that make it safer and easier to walk, roll, or bike to transit.
“Reliable transit starts long before you board,” said Henry Li, SacRT General Manager/CEO. “We want to understand the real-world challenges people face getting to and from transit, and partner with communities to invest in solutions that improve safety, equity, and accessibility.”
“Your input matters,” said Bobbie Singh-Allen, SacRT Board Chair and Elk Grove Mayor. “Whether it’s lighting, sidewalks, crossings, curb ramps, bike parking, or wayfinding, we want to hear what would make your trip to transit safer and more comfortable.”
